Biomarine engineers have taken closed-circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus to its most advanced state with the BioPak 240 four-hour positive pressure self-contained rebreather. Developed after extensive study and research with mine rescue teams, the BioPak 240 was designed to deliver increased duration, low usage and maintenance cost, and greater protection.
The BioPak 240 is designed with a durable plastic breathing chamber and copper internal tubing. Theses two unique features make the system ideal for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). U.S. Government and military agencies currently use the BioPak 240.
BioPak 240 Features in Detail:
Extended Duration - Regardless of the user's size or physical activity, the BioPak 240 delivers at least four hours of breathing time.
Ease of Use - The BioPak 240 is simple to use. All controls and displays are easily accessible.
Comfort - The fully padded adjustable harness makes the unit extremely comfortable for any size user. The weight can be carried on the hips and not the shoulders. The snug, comfortable face piece provides a durable, effective seal and comes with a built-in speaking diaphragm. The over-the-shoulder hose design, along with low breathing resistance, helps reduce fatigue.
Cooling System - BioPak 240 incorporates a built-in frozen gel tube insert that reduces normal heat build up and retention and keeps breathing gas temperature at a comfortable level. The insert can be refrozen for future use and requires no maintenance, aside from normal cleaning.
Low Usage Cost - The BioPak 240’s LimePak CO2 absorbent is provided in bulk, reducing per-use cost.
Clear Vision - The BioPak 240 incorporates a lens insert for clear, fog-free vision. Just apply the anti-fog cloth to the insert, and forget about fogging for four hours. Also available with wiper option.
Ease of Maintenance - BioPak 240 requires minimal preparation and set-up time. All testing can be done in the field, with a minimum of training. There is no mandatory replacement of parts for normal maintenance.
