Simulating the dynamic conditionsthat occur in the printing process, theInkometer provides reliable data on inktack. It measures the integrated forcesinvolved in ink film splitting and theeffects of speed, film thickness, temperatureand solvent evaporation on these forces.
The test results are numerical values (ingram-meters) for the torque required to“work” the ink film at known rates, withpredetermined film thickness andtemperature. These torque readings areactually measurements of the tack of the ink.

It operates at fixedspeeds of 150, 400, 800, 1200 and2000 RPM and has variable speeds up to3000 RPM (4000 RPM optional). Tackreadings are displayed, printed andtransmitted at either 10, 30 or 60 seconds.A built-in printer automatically prints theresults of a 10-minute ink stability test.
