This Clifton magnetic stirrer is robustly constructed and designed for a long and durable life featuring advanced temperature and speed control.
Unit consists of a low profile corrosion resistant stainless steel case with a chemical resistant wipe clean sloping control panel which feature 'bright' LED display and status indicators. A stainless steel 304 spec 18/8 hob plate provides a source of constant heating. A retort rod can be fitted into rear mounting point and unit is supplied with two PTFE coated stirring bars.

Safety features :
1. The Hob temperature is precisely controlled and actual temperature value displayed on digital LED display. The over-temperature alarm is automatically set at +4°C above set point temperature providing confidence that equipment, samples and workplace are protected. When the alarm is activated the heater cuts off with an alarm indication and importantly stirring/mixing continues to dissipate excess heat.
2. Motor is fitted with one shot over temperature safety cut out.

Stainless Steel 304
Stainless Steel 304 alternatively known as an 18/8 Alloy, is designed for corrosion resistance and durability ideal in laboratory routines. The 304 series stainless steels have approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel and are non-magnetic.
Corrosion Resistance
Water
Stainless steel is, by itself, metallurgically incapable of rusting with water. Tough Stains or the appearance of what looks like rust are result of water-borne minerals or particles.
There may be occasions when "rust stains" appear but this is result of iron particles from an outside source in water supply and can be removed with cleaners containing oxalic acid such as Bar Keepers Friend® or dilute solution containing phosphoric acid. Do not use steel wool pads as they leave tiny particles that will develop into rust spots.
Acids
Sulphuric
No corrosion resistance from dilute to concentrated amounts.
Hydrochloric
Chlorides pose high risk of pitting corrosion, depending on concentrations.
Hydrofluoric
No corrosion resistance.
Phosphoric
Concentrations up to 80% at room temperature provide excellent corrosion resistance. Increasing the concentration and raising the temperature degrades stainless steel 304 corrosion performance.
Nitric
Solutions of Nitric with concentrations up to 60%, at room temperature, provides excellent corrosion resistance. Increasing the concentration and raising the temperature degrades stainless steel corrosion performance.
Alkalis
Generally majority of alkali solutions do not affect stainless steel.

·  Uniquely identified with its own serial number recorded on our product database, which includes all of its manufacturing inspection data.
·  Electrically tested for safety at final inspection and a test certificate enclosed in rear of the instruction book.
·  To verify the performance of the temperature control system digital display units undergo a factory calibration procedure which calculates the temperature values over the operating range of the equipment from 2 reference calibration points.

13. Powder painted body providing a durable finish and protection against corrosion and now featuring “active anti-bacterial technology”. This paint finish actively inhibits bacterial growth improving hygiene requirements as demanded by many clinical and laboratory environments. Hygienic coatings are part of a controlled approach to cleaner facilities. The Clifton range has always featured easy to wipe clean smooth paint finishes that are resistant to routine and efficient disinfection’s, however this improved coating featuring ‘active anti-bacterial’ properties provides an extra layer of defence. This new anti-bacterial paint finish is effective against major strains of bacterium including E-coli and Staphylococcus aureus, resistant strain. Within its formulation an active ingredient is a proven anti-bacterial agent bound into the coating during application and curing to the product. The efficacy of the paint finish applied to the Clifton range is maintained over time, as the anti-bacterial agent is integral within the paint finish.
