The Parabolic Dish with Laser sighting increases the range of detection of the Ultrawave 170 to 250 feet and beyond. A recalculation of the parabola dimensions allowed us to decrease the diameter of the dish by over 75% and still increase its overall range by 20% Equipped with both a laser sight and a visual target sight the parabolic dish can pinpoint the source of airborne ultrasound indoors and out. Designed with ergonomic considerations, the dish can be held in the hand or attached to the 170 to make one handheld unit. Ideal applications for the parabolic dish are detection of corona discharge, arcing, and tracking on electrical equipment such as switchgear, high kV lines, insulators and transformers, and detection of compressed air leaks in remote or hard-to-reach locations such as ceilings. The Parabolic is also used for tightness testing of hatches on RoRo ships and other sealed doors that are not accessible. The parabolic dish is an accessory option for the Ultrawave 170S, Ultrawave 170M, and Ultrawave 170MD kits.
